missingWrote a review on Dec 05chic locationlanguage barrierclosed restaurant
The hotel is located in a chic area.
Upon arrival, I faced a significant language barrier as the reception staff struggled to communicate in English, complicating my check-in process. It took longer than expected to resolve issues, and on several occasions, basic inquiries felt ignored. Additionally, the restaurant was closed during my stay, which forced me to find dining options outside of the hotel.

The Mercure in Belo Horizonte offered a decent stay, but there were definite ups and downs. I appreciated the clean and comfortable room with modern décor and purple accents. The bathroom had a great glass shower door, which felt more luxurious than a plastic curtain. The receptionist on the first day was super friendly and helped with my check-in without any issues. I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, abundant in flavorful local dishes, though healthy options were limited. However, the check-in process was disorganized, leading to longer wait times. A lack of English-speaking staff initially made communication difficult until a helpful young man assisted with my safe on the last day. While the hotel was adequately located near restaurants and attractions, the breakfast setup felt crowded and chaotic, resembling a railway station atmosphere. Not my favorite experience, but certainly not the worst either.

Had a decent stay at Mercure! The location near local eateries was super convenient, and the staff, especially the young guy at check-in, were really helpful. Breakfast was just okay though—could use more healthy options. Overall, not my favorite hotel experience, but not the worst either.

This was just a fitting option for a transient visit in Belo Horizonte with good value for price. The staff at the front desk were really accommodating and made check-in super quick. Make sure to bring an adapter for your electronics since the plugs are not standard.

The Mercure is situated in the chic Lourdes district, just a short drive away from excellent restaurants. The breakfast buffet featured local Minas Gerais delicacies, and the views from the top floors were breathtaking. The staff was commendable, especially when handling inquiries and needs at the bar.
